History

Created by Daniel Saynt, founder of the award winning fashion blog FashionIndie.com and former Chief Marketing Officer for Rebecca Minkoff, and Beca Alexander, founding Editor of Fashion Indie, Socialyte combines the skills of seasoned, highly successful social marketers with premium content creation to produce  influence and content marketing campaigns for brands such as Burberry, Louis Vuitton, H&M, Vanity Fair, and Sigerson Morrison.

Having spent years establishing themselves in the industry as the go-to experts in blogger relations, the two created the Socialyte Collective, connecting top fashion publishers. Beauty and luxury lifestyle personalities were added to provide brands with a full breadth of distribution amongst young, attractive influential bloggers and personalities. 

With nearly 500 campaigns launched within it's first year, Socialyte has continued to evolve offering customized blogger campaigns for brands seeking to influence affluent, millennial consumers.

Milestones

  • 2005 - FashionIndie.com is launched. Beta version was designed as an events board for fashion parties taking place around the city.

  • 2007 - Beca Alexander joins INDIE. Fashion Indie Media is formed and the company introduces Fashion Indie Week. Launch event included a runway show across the Brooklyn Bridge, which included designer Rachel Antonoff attracts attention from BBC and Fox News.

  • 2008 - With 30 - 50 daily fashion news articles, opinion pieces, and runway reviews INDIE swells in traffic. The Industry and celebrities take notice, leading to tweets by Zac Posen, Fergie, Lady Gaga. Traffic reaches a high of 2.4 Million readers a month.

  • 2009 - Saynt launches consulting arm within INDIE to educate brands entering into the social media space. Clients inclue the United Nations, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, and H&M.

  • 2010 - INDIE is sold to Lookbooks Media. Saynt becomes Chief Marketing Officer of Rebecca Minkoff. Beca joins IWC.

  • 2011 - Saynt launches industry changing initiatives with Polyvore, Instagram, Twitter, Pose and Facebook as partners. Increases site traffic to Minkette.com, a branded media channel to over 100k readers. Minkoff experiences 498% increase in sales.

  • 2012 - The Socialyte Collective is formed. Clients include Conde Nast, 3M, Rebecca Minkoff, Paul Mitchell, Arrojo, Sigerson Morrison and BeachMint. Socialyte is featured in The New York Times. Reports on our #TrendSpark program causes  heated debate amongst the blogging community with ManRepeller, Fashionista, New York Magazine, and Susie Lau weighing in. Socialyte introduces the #SocialyteGala, a private fashion week event hosted for top members. Musical performances by Theophilous London, Blood Orange, and Delta Ray. 

  • 2013 - Socialyte blogger castings increase to nearly 500 influencers, reaching over 100  million international consumers, and including bookings of top bloggers such as Wendy's Lookbook, The Blonde Salad and 5 Inches and Up. Socialyte Status introduced, providing brands detailed reports on top talents which include readership, social followers, past press, brand activations, key attributes. Blogger ratings later added to allow brands to be educated on publishers with the highest amount of consumer response. Socialyte introduces management services for established talents and expands management to 20 elite members of our community.
